After our daughter was born, my husband made it clear he wanted a son. A year later, he kept pressuring me to have another baby, even warning, “If you don’t do it, somebody else will.” I wanted to wait a few more years, but instead, when our daughter turned three, he left us for another woman who was already expecting his supposed child.

The divorce was long and bitter, with my ex even arguing over household items. He went on to have two boys with his new partner, believing he had finally gotten the sons he always wanted, while our daughter and I built a life without him over the next 11 years.

Recently, my ex-mother-in-law asked to meet with me. She revealed that my ex’s second marriage had fallen apart after his wife discovered he had been unfaithful again. When he tried to seek full custody of the boys, she revealed they were not biologically his, and a DNA test confirmed it.

His mother then asked me to forgive him and take him back because our daughter was actually his only biological child. I refused without hesitation. After everything he put us through, I had no interest in rebuilding a relationship with someone who abandoned his family in pursuit of the son he never truly had.
