A Small Act of Kindness That Started a Chain of Goodness

While stopping at Subway for dinner, I noticed three young teenagers pooling their coins and small bills to afford just one sandwich, quietly accepting that they couldn’t afford a cookie. Wanting to cheer them up, I asked the cashier to add a cookie to my order, but she whispered that her boss had already noticed the kids were short on money and instructed her to give them their food for free.

My small gesture turned out to be unnecessary, but discovering that someone had already stepped in to help made the moment even more heartwarming. Sometimes, the kindness we hope to show is already happening through someone else’s generosity.
