While flying on a plane, I noticed a girl beside me repeatedly touching her seemingly black entertainment screen, so after watching her struggle for five minutes, I pressed the power button and confidently told her how to turn it on. Two hours later, I realized the screen had actually been on the entire time, but its brightness was so low that I couldn’t see anything from my angle, meaning I had accidentally turned off the screen she was already using to browse movies! Then, just a few days ago, I walked into a public restroom and held the door open for a man who had just finished using the toilet, forgetting that he might want to wash his hands. When he hesitated and headed towards the exit, I absentmindedly asked, “Aren’t you going to wash your hands?” Embarrassed, he turned back towards the sink, while I immediately regretted making the situation even more awkward.
